PRIMA DONNA
Every woman has a 'Prima Donna' within her, waiting for permission to take center stage. This collection gives that permission.
The term "prima donna" has been weaponized against women who dare to have standards, who know their worth, and who refuse to settle for less than they deserve. But here, we reclaim it. A 'Prima Donna' is simply a woman who understands her value and isn't afraid to embody it.
This collection draws inspiration from the golden age of cinema, when leading ladies commanded the screen not through perfection, but through sheer force of personality. Set against vintage automobiles and captured in timeless black and white, these images explore what it means to be the star of your own story. The flowing fabrics and dramatic shadows aren't just aesthetic choices. They're statements of intention.
Each pose declares: "I belong in this spotlight. I deserve this attention. I will not apologize for taking up space." The vintage setting reminds us that confidence is timeless and that true elegance transcends trends. It is about authenticity—the revolutionary act of treating yourself as the leading lady of your own life rather than a supporting character in someone else's story. This is not about vanity or arrogance.
Artist's note:
I love how these images capture the beauty of honoring our past while looking to the future. Just like a vintage car that still runs, I believe true style goes beyond following trends; it’s really about what endures. To me, elegance isn’t about the newest or most expensive things; it’s about intention, grace, and having the confidence to stand proudly with history. Sometimes, I find that the best thing to do is pause, appreciate the journey, and embrace what’s timeless, rather than chasing after the next big thing.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the Prima Donna project. Your contributions and support have meant a great deal and have genuinely made a difference. Thank you all for being such an essential part of this journey!
